CQ Today Online News - The GOP is capitalizing on the recent health care debate to raise money from and organize Republicans in the medical community — as well as recruit candidates who have an “M.D.” after their name to run in 2010. Doctors “are always concerned because they’re in the cross hairs of Washington all the time,” said Rep. Tom Price (R-Ga.), an orthopedic surgeon. “I think they’re more inclined to participate this time given the incredible importance of what’s happening.”

Blake Curd Opposes Trillion-Dollar House Health Care Proposal

Sioux Falls - Blake Curd, Republican candidate for South Dakota's Congressional seat in 2010, today stated his opposition to the House bill released earlier by Nancy Pelosi regarding government takeover of America's medical care. Curd, a Sioux Falls surgeon and member of the South Dakota House of Representatives, also called on Representative Stephanie Herseth Sandlin to make public her decision on supporting the legislation.
